Georgia Senate Runoff 2.0
Throwback to two years ago in 2020 when it seemed that Georgia had one the biggest elections the nation has ever seen. Every eye was on Georgia as Democratic nominees Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff ran against Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.
It got ugly. Both seats were up for a runoff and determined the way the Senate would lean, either right or left.
Now it seems that the Senate race this year in Georgia, and the whole election cycle this year, will get even uglier.
Republican Herschel Walker, former UGA football player, is running against sitting Senator Raphael Warnock.
One of the main reasons for these elections getting some much attention and division is social media.
Social media has had a huge presence in elections ever since the presidential election in 2016 when Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton ran against each other.
These different social media platforms have allowed for information (and misinformation) to ruin rampant to everyone phones and computer screens across America.
It will be interesting to see how this election cycle will play out. Will Democrat stomp all over Walker, and will Republicans do the same to Warnock, again?
As it stands, Walker has only campaigned about $5.5 million in the first three months compared to Warnock's $13.6 in the same time period.
It is still early, absolutely anything can still happen.
