Is Disney Going Down?

Image
Just myself personally, I have seen numerous posts and comments all over social media about what is going on with entertainment giant Disney. Parents have been posting all over Facebook and Instagram that they will never watch Disney again, never go back to their theme parks, and/or canceling their Disney+ subscription. After a little research, I have come to find out why it looks like Disney is going down.  Disney has always been know for its family-friendly movies and exciting attractions at its Orlando and Anaheim theme parks. Recently, they have been met with right-winged individuals trying to tear the company down. The entertainment giant is pushing to incorporate more representation of minority groups into its television shows and movies. A statement was even released a few weeks back that they are going to start producing at least 50% of their content with some type of LGBTQ+ representation. Not only is Disney receiving backlash from angry parents accusing them of trying to ...

Georgia Senate Runoff 2.0

Image
Throwback to two years ago in 2020 when it seemed that Georgia had one the biggest elections the nation has ever seen. Every eye was on Georgia as Democratic nominees Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff ran against Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.  It got ugly. Both seats were up for a runoff and determined the way the Senate would lean, either right or left.  Now it seems that the Senate race this year in Georgia, and the whole election cycle this year, will get even uglier.  Republican Herschel Walker, former UGA football player, is running against sitting Senator Raphael Warnock.  One of the main reasons for these elections getting some much attention and division is social media.  Social media has had a huge presence in elections ever since the presidential election in 2016 when Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton ran against each other.  These different social media platforms have allowed for information (and misinformation) to ruin...

Should Kids Be Taught This While They're This Young?

Image
We are an opinionated society. We all have differences about everything. When it comes to what children are learning, it has become a bigger polarizing issue. Democrats believe that children as young as elementary school so learn certain topics about racism and sexism by their teachers. Republicans believe that that should not happen, and it should be up to the parents if they want to teach their children about those topics. Children brains are still forming during these years. They are learning math, science, and history, so it is crucial for them to know this topics? On the other hand, children need to be able to learn they can choose how they want to live their lives. Should they be taught to think freely from a young age? This is a very huge topic, and has caused a lot of tension with both parties in Washington D.C.  What is your view on this? Elon Musk & Twitter

Image
It seems that Elon Musk's name is either on or around many corporations now and days. The Tesla CEO has already acquired 9% stake in Twitter to become its largest shareholder. Musk is joining other critics in questioning the social media platform's dedication to free speech and the First Amendment. Musk, and others, have raised eyebrows after Donald Trump was banned from all social media websites following January 6, 2020. He has even gone as far to tweet, "Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy... What should be done?" There have also been rumors that Musk is on the verge of starting his own social media platform that would rival Twitter, but nothing has been confirmed just yet. Musk could even see Twitter as an investment, "Musk's actual investment is a very small percentage of his wealth, and an all-out buyout should not be ruled out," wrote Zino, wh...
